PDF MAKER TERMS OF USE

1. AGREEMENT
These terms govern your use of the PDF Maker app (com.billionx.pdf.reader.editor.converter) offered by Lost Penguin Labs ("we"). By installing or using the app you accept them. If you do not accept, do not use the app. The app is for adults aged 18 and over. Our Privacy Policy (https://billionx.co/pdf-reader-privacy-policy/) explains how data is handled.
2. THE APP
PDF Maker lets you view, organise and edit documents stored on your device. All processing happens on your device. Features marked Premium require an active subscription. We may change, add or remove features; we will not remove a feature you have paid for during the period you paid for without a reasonable alternative or refund where the law requires.
3. YOUR FILES
You keep all rights in your files. You are responsible for having the right to open, edit, sign, scan, merge or share the documents you use, and for keeping backups. The app saves edited results as new files next to the original unless you choose otherwise; you should still keep copies of important documents. Deleting a file inside the app deletes it from your device; the app offers a short undo window and nothing more.
4. PERMISSIONS
The app may ask for access to files on your device and for notifications. You decide in Android Settings; some features need the permission to work.
5. PREMIUM SUBSCRIPTIONS
- Premium is a subscription sold and billed by Google Play. Price, billing period (monthly or yearly) and any free-trial offer (a 3-day trial on the yearly plan) are shown on the purchase screen before you confirm.
- A free trial converts to a paid subscription automatically at the end of the trial unless you cancel before it ends. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
- Manage or cancel in Google Play > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; access continues to the end of the paid period. Refunds follow Google Play's refund policy and applicable law.
- Premium currently includes: no ads, text recognition (OCR) and High compression. Without Premium you can use OCR or High compression once by choosing to watch a short rewarded ad.
6. ADS
The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob and its partner ad networks (see the Privacy Policy). Ads are not endorsed by us. Rewarded ads are optional.
7. ACCEPTABLE USE
Do not use the app to break the law, to infringe others' rights, to process documents you have no right to process, to reverse-engineer or copy the app except where the law allows, or to interfere with the app's ads or purchase systems.
8. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND OPEN-SOURCE
The app, its name and artwork belong to Lost Penguin Labs or its licensors. The app includes open-source components under their own licences (a list of their licences is available on request at support@billionx.co; the app has no licences screen).
9. DISCLAIMERS
The app is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that text recognition, scanning or conversion results are error-free, that signatures have legal validity in your jurisdiction, or that the app will work with every file. To the extent permitted by law we exclude implied warranties. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.
10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or loss of files. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. TERMINATION
You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it (cancel any subscription separately in Google Play). We may suspend access if you breach these terms.
12. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these terms. The updated version applies from its effective date; continued use means acceptance. Material changes will be shown in the app.
13. GOVERNING LAW
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Lost Penguin Labs is established, without regard to conflict of law rules, and without depriving you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence.
14. GOOGLE PLAY
Google Play terms apply to the purchase and download of the app; Google is not responsible for support or maintenance.
