DUPX TERMS OF USE

1. AGREEMENT

These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and BILLIONX LABS LIMITED (BillionX, "we", "us") for the Android app DupX: Storage & Photo Cleaner ("DupX", "the app"). By using the app you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. You must be 18 or older. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. WHAT THE APP DOES

The app scans photos, videos and contacts on your phone to help you find duplicates and clutter. It lets you:

  • review groups of duplicate and similar photos, screenshots, chat photos and other photos, and delete the ones you select;
  • swipe through your gallery by month and move photos to an in-app archive. The archive is only a list inside the app: the photo stays where it is until you delete it;
  • compress a video at one of three quality levels. The app saves a new, smaller video in Movies/DupX; your original stays until you delete it. The compressed video is lower in quality or size by design, so check it before deleting the original. HDR videos are not supported;
  • find duplicate and incomplete contacts, merge duplicates and delete contacts;
  • check photos you pick yourself with the system photo picker, if you do not want to give the app access to your whole library;
  • show optional reminders (at most one a day).

Results are suggestions. You decide what to delete or merge. Space shown as "can be freed" is an estimate from file sizes.

3. FREE USE AND PRO SUBSCRIPTION

  • Free: scanning, viewing every group, swiping photos into the archive, and merging up to 5 duplicate contact groups per day. These limits may change through remote settings without an app update.
  • Pro is needed to delete photos or videos (including from the archive), compress videos, delete contacts, and merge more than 5 contact groups in a day. Actions that need Pro show a "Pro" label before you tap them.
  • Plans: weekly (with a 3-day free trial for users Google Play judges eligible) and yearly. The price shown on the purchase screen, in your currency, is the price Google Play charges.
  • Free trial: if you start the trial you are not charged during the first 3 days. When the trial ends, your Google Play account is charged the weekly price shown on the purchase screen, automatically, and then every week, unless you cancel before the trial ends.
  • Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period (week or year) at the then-current price until you cancel.
  • Cancel: in Google Play (Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → DupX → Cancel), or in the app: Settings → My plan → Manage in Google Play. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the end of the paid period. Uninstalling the app or using "Delete my data" does not cancel the subscription.
  • Restore: Settings → Restore purchase asks Google Play for your purchases again.
  • Refunds: payments are handled by Google Play and refunds follow Google Play's policy. We cannot refund Google Play charges ourselves; request a refund through Google Play or contact support@billionx.co.

4. ACCEPTABLE USE

Do not: reverse engineer or tamper with the app or its purchase checks; use it to delete or merge data that belongs to someone else without permission; use it unlawfully; resell or share a subscription; or interfere with Google Play billing.

5. PERMANENT CHANGES: PLEASE READ

Photos and videos are deleted through Android's own confirmation dialog, without going to a trash folder. This cannot be undone.

Contacts: a merge combines each group into one contact: details from the copies are added to the kept contact and the copies are deleted, also from a synced account such as Google. Deleting contacts is permanent in the same way. Before either action the app tries to save a backup file (.vcf) of the affected contacts to Download/DupX; if the backup cannot be saved, nothing is changed. The app cannot undo a merge or delete itself; to restore, import the backup file with a contacts app. Some rarely used details may not carry over to the merged contact. The backup file is not encrypted: it contains contact details, so keep it safe or delete it when you no longer need it.

Backups are only made for contacts. The app does not back up photos or videos: copy anything you want to keep before deleting.

6. DISCLAIMER

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent allowed by law. We do not promise that every duplicate will be found, that suggestions are always correct, that merged contacts keep every detail, or that the app is error-free or always available.

7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the extent allowed by law, BILLIONX LABS LIMITED is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data (including photos, videos or contacts you chose to delete or merge). Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory consumer rights.

8. CHANGES AND TERMINATION

We may update these Terms or the app. The "Last Updated" date reflects the latest revision; continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it. For material changes we will show a notice in the app. We may suspend access if you breach these Terms.

9. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which BILLIONX LABS LIMITED is established, without regard to conflict of law rules, and without depriving you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence.
